Te Papa Asian Mental Health Project

Public talk

5-7pm, Tuesday 27 September

The Pit, Te Ara Hihiko, Block 12

Massey University Wellington, Pukeahu Campus

The psychological distress caused by the pandemic worldwide has been profound for Asian communities, including in Aotearoa, where Asian communities were already invisible in mental health conversations prior to the pandemic. Te Papa’s Asian Mental Health Project aims to create a digital zine, public programmes and a short video series that highlights complex discussions of a range of mental health topics platforming Asian voices and  perspectives. This special presentation featured Project Lead, Mehwish Mughal, Asian New Zealand Histories curator Grace Gassin and Public Programmes Specialist Emma Ng who discussed the issues and launched the zine publication, Unravelling Threads, that was produced as part of this vital project.

Limited capacity. Free and all welcome.
