Julie Zhu 

Julie Zhu works across theatre, film, and photography. She directed East Meets East, a short documentary made with Loading Docs, and produced the 2017 show OTHER [chinese] with Alice Canton. She is passionate about the power of storytelling to enable empathy, shift perspectives, and grow solidarity between marginalised identities. Recently, she launched WAYFR (Where Are you From Really), a platform showcasing urgent art from people of colour. She is also involved with Asians Supporting Tino Rangatiratanga and Racial Equity Aotearoa.

As part of the AAAH2018 Symposium @ Te Papa, Julie Zhu facilitated the Translations & Mutations panel which included Lynda Chanwai-Earle, Renee Liang, Alice Canton.
